Director of NAMA Women Advancement Establishment’s comment on Emirati Women’s Day

The UAE also has the third highest percentage of total female participation in economic activities across the GCC

Reem BinKaram, Director of NAMA Women Advancement Establishment, said: “Emirati Women’s Day reflects our wise leadership’s unwavering belief that empowering women has a multiplier effect, helping drive economic growth and development, and benefitting societies and humanity at large, while promoting gender equity at all levels.”

BinKaram emphasised that NAMA is committed to advancing women’s participation in the economy and enabling them to become key influencers in society and economy. “There are 23,000 women who run businesses worth over AED 50 billion in the UAE, and they make up 15 percent of all board members at the chambers of commerce and industry nationwide. The UAE also has the third highest percentage of total female participation in economic activities across the GCC.”

“It is a matter of pride that the level of women’s empowerment in the UAE is used as a yardstick to measure national and regional development. As the nation goes from strength to strength in fulfilling its women-centric goals, NAMA fuels these efforts through innovative partnerships and initiatives to create enabling environments for women and girls to achieve inclusive social and economic growth,” BinKaram added.
